Browning A5 Lightning Sweet Sixteen A Top 16-Gauge Shotgun

Many consider the 16-gauge shotgun to be the perfect blend of size and power. And now Browning has introduced a new member of its A5 autoloader lineup for upland hunting. The new Browning A5 Lightning Sweet Sixteen is built for long days in the field hot on the trail of fast-flushing upland birds. The most notable feature is the “Lightning-style” buttstock with a relaxed grip angle that offers a quick, instinctive grasp and easy reach to the trigger. The stock is also shim-adjustable for the length of pull, cast and drop. This advantage ensures that the shooter and gun will be a great match.

A 16-Gauge Shotgun With Kinematic Drive

The in-between 16 gauge is, to many hunters, the ideal ammunition for the perfect gun. A well-designed 16-gauge shotgun is closer in weight to a 20 gauge, with a shot payload nearer the 12 gauge, and patterning that bests them both. The A5, with proven Kinematic Drive recoil operation, is built to reliably function with a wide variety of factory game loads, and in a variety of weather conditions. Kinematic Drive harnesses recoil energy and converts it into the mechanical motion needed to operate the action. This concept is tried and true.

It also benefits from the advantages of Total Barrel Dynamics and the Invector-DS choke tube system to extract the most performance from this revered gauge. The humpback receiver profile increases the length of the sighting plane to give you the same advantage that made the first Auto 5’s famous. New Winchester Ammo For the 16-Gauge

The Winchester has added a new load for the 16-gauge shotgun. The Super-X Steel offers the unique payload qualities of the 16 gauge in a higher-velocity cartridge that delivers more pellets per ounce than lead.

A steel load tailor-made for upland game and targets, Super-X Steel 16 gauge is built with a high-performance, corrosion-resistant, lead-free shot.

By the numbers, the number 6 shot count averages 295 pellets with a velocity at the muzzle of 1,350 feet per second, meaning more surer hits on birds and clay. Shot wads are engineered with thicker petals for increased barrel protection in a worry-free-cycling 2 3/4-inch length.

With federal and state regulations for nontoxic shots becoming more the rule than the exception, 16-gauge Winchester Super-X Steel is an excellent choice wherever you hunt. For more information, go to Winchester.com.
