New Gearhead Disrupter Series Bows: Distinctive and Compact

Nobody can accuse Gearhead archery of following the herd. And if you’re familiar with their bows, you’ll agree that they look nothing like a typical compound bow. Once gaping mouths close and a little information gathering has been done, the curiosity continues. Just check out their booth at any ATA show, and you’ll see. Still relatively new to the scene, Gearhead bows continue to be on the rise. Why? Because from the beginning, they’ve offered unique shooting systems born of big-time innovation. Known for their short axle-to-axle lengths, Gearhead bows represent a unique alternative in the compound bow world. For 2020, they came out with their new Disrupter series bows, which have garnered a lot of attention. Named based on bow length, the series includes the Disrupter 20, 24, and 30; they give all new meaning to the term “short and sweet.” That is sweet-shooting and compact.

First off, these bows have been designed to shed weight while maintaining significant strength. And they do just that. The Disrupter 24 tops out at 330 FPS at only 4-pounds. Do you like customization? If so, the Gearhead disrupter lineup is chock full of options. For example, each model offers six different grip styles that lend nicely to micro-tuning variables such as brace height, draw length, and torque. All Gearhead bows are distinctive in looks. Nevertheless, for those that want to display their uniqueness further, custom colors and dipping are available at an additional cost.

With max let off of 80-85%, the series yields great draw length adjustability, from 25”-30”. Further, all models feature generous draw weight adjustments, an ST-2 Stabilizer mount, and converts from right to left hand or vice versa. When it’s all said and done, the Disrupter line rivals the most powerful and accurate bows out there. That’s a lot of functionality and style for a bow ranging in price from $729-$769.

Between the shootability, power, and accuracy, and distinctive aesthetics, it’s no surprise that Gearhead shooting systems have reaped a healthy following. Vastly different looking, the Gearhead Disrupter lineup is ideal for tight spaces, as well as mobile hunting for deer, turkey, and other game.
