New Volquartsen .22 Pistols Are Ready For Competition

There are some new Volquartsen .22 pistols for small bore fans to put on their wish lists. The company has added new models to its lineup of competition-ready rimfires with the Mamba-X, Mamba-TFX, and Mini Mamba. All come in a convenient push-button takedown configuration.

Volquartsen .22 Pistols: Easy Optics Mounting

Following the introduction of the Black Mamba in 2019 and the Black Mamba-TF in 2020, the Mamba-X is the latest addition to this line of highly sought after pistols. The new Mamba-X and Mamba-TFX pistol configurations utilize Volquartsen’s new LLV-4X upper, which has multiple hole mounting locations allowing for a variety of popular red dots to be mounted directly to the top of the upper.

The LLV-4X Upper will also be available as a stand-alone product and is compatible with both the Volquartsen Competition Bolt as well as the Ruger MK IV factory bolt. A limited number of LLV-4X uppers are currently available with complete pistols available in the next 6 months. The Mamba-X has a MSRP of $1342.00.

Volquartsen .22 Pistols Get On Target Quickly

“Competitive shooters are always searching for that ‘little something’ that will make them a fraction of a second faster,” said Volquartsen Firearms President Scott Volquartsen. “Matches are sometimes won or lost by a fraction of a second. In talking to world champion level shooters, they will tell you that many times the split to that first target sets the tone for the rest of the string.

“In fact, they spend what seems to the casual observer a disproportionate amount of time working on that transition from low ready to first plate.

“Keeping the red dot mounted as low to the bore axis as possible makes for faster sight acquisition. The easiest and cleanest way to do this is to mount the red dot directly to the top of the upper.”

The Mamba-X comes with a Ruger Mk IV 22/45 frame with push-button takedown.

Mini Mamba Is Smallest Volquartsen .22

For those who favor a smaller gun, there’s a new Volquartsen .22 pistol as well. The Mini Mamba is the lightest, most compact Black Mamba configuration currently offered. It features an overall length under 8 inches and weighs only 1 pound, 9 ounces. The Mini Mamba will be available exclusively through Davidson’s Gallery of Guns.

The Mini Mamba has a 3-inch LLV-4 Competition Upper and a Ruger MK IV 22/45 frame with push-button takedown capability.

This upper features a stainless steel barrel (with stainless steel, laser hardened breech) housed in an aluminum shroud. This design provides match-grade accuracy in a lightweight package. An integral Picatinny rail on top is standard. Whether shooting suppressed (its overall length makes a great suppressor host), plinking on the range, or looking for something a little lighter for competition – the Mini Mamba is designed to perform. The Mini Mamba is a great size for those wanting to add a suppressor.
