Raymarine Axiom+ Multi-function Navigation Displays and New Electronic Chart Catalog
Summer is upon us, and if you’re like me, there is nothing better then being on the water. Spending a summer evening along the Texas coast, or whatever water you call home, chasing Tailing Redfish in a newly found back bay could have gotten a whole lot easier. Raymarine made the best MFD on the market, even better, introducing Axiom +. The three new models released to the public today, are going to be replacing the current Axiom line.
Raymarine took the award-winning Axiom platform and made it even better. The performance tweaks include it being smarter, brighter, and more robust than the last generation of MFDs. With the release of the new hardware, Raymarine has also made changes to the LightHouse 3 operating system codenamed DARTMOUTH, bringing lots of new features and usability.
Raymarine LightHouse DARTMOUTH
It all starts with the Quad-core processor architecture, ensuring smooth screen redraws and fast charting of new Raymarine LightHouse DARTMOUTH charts but also Navionics and C-Map. Raymarine has increased the storage to 16GB, allowing customers to store more apps and the mentioned LightHouse DARTMOUTH.
All of the displays are upgraded to IPS from LCD, bringing sharp contrast, stunning beautiful color, and wider viewing angles. The 7, 9, and 12-inch all-weather displays are sunlight viewable being 25 percent brighter. Lastly, in terms of screen upgrades, Raymarine introduced a new coating called HydroTough™ onto the LCDs. The nano-coated, impact-resistant glass repels water, oil, and smudges for much better viewing and accurate touch controls
“Axiom+ takes everything boaters enjoy about Axiom and elevates the user experience with increased performance, simpler navigation, and superior visibility,” says Gregoire Outters, Vice President and General Manager of the Raymarine brand. “Combine these benefits with our new LightHouse Chart catalog and boaters have an exciting, powerful, and sophisticated new choice for marine navigation.”
Axiom+ builds upon what boaters love about Axiom MFDs. Four built-in sonar channels – including RealVision™ 3D delivering comprehensive news of the underwater world and a next-generation ultra-sensitive GPS/GNSS receiver offers a 4x improvement in sensitivity for accurate navigation, even in the most challenging installations. ClearCruise™ Augmented Reality is also an option with the addition of a Raymarine IP video camera and AR 200 sensor helping boaters make smarter decisions. Since it is a Raymarine it’s ready to expand. Network with multiple Axiom displays radars, sonar and so much more.
