Savage 110 Ultralite Rifle Sports Carbon Fiber-Wrapped Barrel

The new Savage 110 Ultralite rifle are now shipping. They should be a welcome option for those hunters who cover miles over rugged terrain. Initially, the new Ultralite series includes rifles chambered for eight popular cartridges.

Savage 110 Ultralite Shaves The Weight

Five of these new Savage 110 Ultralite rifles tip the scales at a mere 5.8 pounds, while the other three top out at six pounds even.

“The 110 Ultralite is a highly refined Model 110,” said Jessica Treglia, senior brand manager at Savage Arms. “Our engineers have gone to great lengths to strip weight off the rifle, without sacrificing any of its functionality or accuracy. With the additional weight reduction from the Proof Research barrel, you’ll instantly feel the difference.”

Those Proof Research carbon fiber-wrapped stainless steel barrels, provided specifically for this Ultralite series, are a big reason Savage is able to offer rifles this light. These Ultralite rifles also a skeletonized stainless steel receiver with protective matte black Melonite finish. The spiral-fluted bolt cuts even more weight while maintaining sufficient strength.

The Savage 110 Ultralite rifles range in weight from 5.8 to 6 pounds.

Ultralite Rifles Have The Best Savage Features

These Ultralite bolt-action rifles make use of the highly regarded Savage 110 factory blueprinted action with a great reputation for out-of-the-box accuracy. The rifles retain other popular Savage features too. The rifles feature the company’s synthetic AccuFit stock with adjustable comb height and length of pull that allows for an excellent, customized fit. The stock on the Ultralite rifles is gray, contrasting nicely with the matte black receiver.

Also included is the Savage AccuTrigger, user adjustable from 1.5 to 4 pounds. It provides for a crisp trigger pull, a big factor in practical accuracy. These rifles also feature a threaded muzzle with 5/8 x 24 threads and a flush-fit cap. The rifles are fed through a detachable box magazine with a four-round capacity.
