Welcome Dave Fulson to the International Sportsman Tribe
It is with great excitement that I have accepted an opportunity to work with the incredible folks at International Sportsman, as well as with the sportsmen and sportswomen who are active on this wonderful hunting, fishing, and shooting platform.
I look forward to working with this team to provide captivating and educational content. I have dedicated my entire personal and professional life (61 years and counting) to exactly these wonderful and time-honored pursuits. As a native, and life-long, Texan I have been fortunate to leave boot prints over most of the world’s game-fields, including three decades of dedicated hunting and filming in Africa.
A Career in Outdoor Adventure
My early career was centered on serious bass tournaments. It was a passion-based profession that I look back on fondly. My experiences in that world forced me into maturity and introduced me to many of the biggest names in the tournament-fishing world with whom I became friends. While my competitive days are behind me, the friendships with these incredible people remain.
My passion for fishing is alive and well, and one I have continued to enjoy on four continent, reeling in everything from bluegill to blue marlin!
Decades of serious hunting followed my fishing adventures, and the fire still burns in me today. From my personal hunts, which include more than two decades in the outfitting and international booking business, I have turned a vacation into a full-time vocation. Be it bobwhite or bull elephant; I am a hunter and a dedicated conservationist. Hunting is not simply a pastime I enjoy; it is truly the major part of who I am. Even better — the fact that my wife Heather not only enjoys but supports my lifestyle makes me one lucky guy.
During my hunting industry career, I have been fortunate to pick up several major awards in wildlife videography, photography, and writing. In addition, I tour the country each year, delivering hunting seminars on a wide variety of topics. I have always enjoyed sharing my adventures and thoughts with like-minded folks — just like those of you who enjoy spending time at International Sportsman.
I am a co-owner of Dallas-based Safari Classics Productions, a production, and marketing firm specializing in the outdoor hunting and shooting space.
My firm produces, and I host, the award-winning Tracks Across Africa series, currently enjoying our 15th season on Outdoor Channel. I co-host Trijicon’s World Of Sports Afield series and serve as executive producer of the popular Hornady’s Dark and Dangerous series, both of which air on Sportsman Channel.
Today I proudly serve on the Board of Directors for both the DSC Foundation and the DSC Frontline Foundation.
I am looking forward to becoming an active member of the International Sportsman family. And I also look forward to sharing, discussing, and even debating the many critical issues facing sportsmen both at home and around the globe.
